Organic & Wild Spring Wedding
"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt."
-from Bluebeard’s Egg by Margaret Atwood
Spring weddings bring in my humble opinion the best flowers. The lilac and the peonies, tulips and daffodils. The colors are vibrant and the smells are so sweet.

Its no wonder so many people choose their wedding dates to be in May and June. With our couple Allyson and Josh, they wanted their florals to reflect the season, organic and wild with lots of colors and big blooms. They were having an outdoor ceremony at Iron Mills so we created big bountiful meadows that could greet their guests when they took their seats. These were also easy to move back into reception to be used as sweetheart table decor. I think when working in a budget its to important to make sure your getting the most use out of your florals. The meadows were lively with pink peonies, green viburnum branches, and purple allium.

Allyson wanted her bouquet to also have an organic feel, we used lots of different stems to create the perfect mix of color and texture. I built the bouquet with peonies and viburnum to create structure, and then I added lots of little pieces to create the whimsy, blue tweedia, fever few, lilac and butterfly ranunculus.
The images were captured by the amazing We are the Richards. You really feel the dreamlike quality of a wedding day with the way these photographers capture the day. I always love when I get to work with them.
A perfect Spring wedding <3
